“The grass is always greener on the other side.”

I think it’s natural to compare ourselves to others, but it often makes us unhappy even if we have enough and should be happy with what we have.

I’ve been there, scrolling instagram, seeing happy people all over there. It made myself felt so little afterwards. I couldn’t help not knowing. But after knew, I couldn’t stop comparing.

I was congrulating people when they told me the good news, but deep inside, I was wondering whether their good news was better than mine. That’s when the feeling starts to creep in that I’m not good enough, that I’m not motivated enough, that I need to do better.

Life wasn’t supposed to be a competition, but it really felt like one. And I know it’s not just me.

I think, it’s usually an unfair comparison. As a result, we’ll always come off bad if we look at someone’s strengths and our weaknesses.

Even if we compare strength to strength, there will always be those who are better, and those who are worse. These aren’t good things.

Comparison can lead us to feel resentment toward someone else’s success. We’ll never be grateful with what we have and we’ll lose all sense of peace and joy in living. So, stop comparing!

The only person you should compare yourself to is you.
